The deal, in plain language
By creating an account and using Frendy, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. They're short and written to be understood.
Last updated: July 2026
1Acceptance
When you create an account or use Frendy, you accept these Terms of Use. If you don't agree, don't use Frendy.
2Who can use Frendy
Frendy is invite-only: you need an invite code to join. You must be at or above the minimum age required in your country to use a messaging service. You're responsible for keeping your recovery phrase safe — it's the only way to recover your account, and we cannot recover it for you.
3Acceptable use
Frendy exists to protect the private conversations of ordinary people. You agree not to use Frendy for any illegal purpose, and specifically not for:
- Child sexual abuse material — zero tolerance, always reported;
- Terrorism or violent extremism;
- Trafficking in drugs, weapons or people;
- Fraud, scams, phishing, malware or hacking;
- Harassment, threats or incitement to violence;
- Anything else that is illegal where you live or where you act.
4End-to-end encryption and your responsibility
Because Frendy is end-to-end encrypted, we cannot see, read or moderate the content you send. That means you are solely responsible for everything you send, share and do through Frendy, and for complying with the laws that apply to you. Privacy is a right; it is not a license to break the law.
5Enforcement
We may suspend or terminate any account and revoke invite chains, at our discretion and without prior notice, when we have reason to believe these Terms have been violated — based on reports and the limited metadata we hold, and without ever reading your messages. We cooperate with lawful requests to the extent we are technically able (which, by design, is limited to metadata — see the Privacy Policy).
6Service "as is"
Frendy is offered during testing on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind. We don't guarantee uninterrupted service, and features may change. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for the conduct of users or the content they send, or for any loss arising from use of the service.
7Your account and keys
You are responsible for your account credentials, your PIN and your recovery phrase. If you lose your recovery phrase, we cannot restore access — that's a direct consequence of encryption that only you can unlock.
8Changes and contact
We may update these Terms as Frendy evolves and will note the date above; continued use means you accept the update. Abuse reports: abuse@frendy.im. Invite requests: inviteme@frendy.im.
